Why Choose Film
Authentic texture and light - Film captures light with a depth and warmth that feels timeless. The grain, the gentle shifts in exposure, the soul in every frame, they bring out emotion in a way that’s rich, tactile, and quietly powerful.
Moments that linger - The unposed, imperfect, inbetween moments, a glance that holds, a laugh caught off guard, the touch before you even realise. Film encourages patience and slowing down. These are the photos that resonate years later, when you look back through your wedding gallery with children or grandkids, remembering how it felt.
A sense of permanence - Flowers may fade. Dresses, veils, ribbons they might lose their sheen. But film frames those memories in a way that feels enduring. There’s a permanence in the colours, tones, and depth; a heritage quality that suggests these are more than snapshots they are heirlooms.
My Film Process
When you opt for 35 mm film, every frame becomes considered. I shoot with intention: the soft gathering of morning light, the hush before the ceremony, candlelight, dusk, dancing shadows. In the moments you might forget, I’ll be there quietly observing, ready with the film roll.
I blend in, letting your day flow naturally, only stepping forward for the few portraits we plan together. There’s an element of unpredictability: film means not seeing the results instantly; it means trusting that what was captured will reveal itself beautifully.
All film exposures are carefully developed and scanned to maintain their integrity. The final images are delivered with the same refined, minimal, elegant edit style you see in my digital work, balanced, true to tone, never overly processed.
Is Film Right for You?
Film is for couples who value feeling as much as form. If you're drawn to images that hold emotion, that feel lived-in and lasting then film might speak to you. It's not about trends, but truth. Honest, elegant, and quietly soulful, 35mm captures your story in a way that endures.
